Chidon Overview
There is no need to elaborate on how much it means to the Rebbe that every man, woman, and child study the daily portion of Rambam. Our goal is for every chayol in Tzivos Hashem to follow the Rebbe’s takona to learn all 613 mitzvos of the Torah as codified by the Rambam. It is our hope that through learning the 613 mitzvos in depth chayolim will gain a deep appreciation and understanding of all the mitzvos, resulting in an increased excitement for and commitment to fulfilling the Rebbe’s takona.

Yahadus books 1 - 5
The 613 mitzvos are to be mastered over a five-year period, from fourth through eighth grade. We use the acclaimed Yahadus curriculum created by the Living Lessons Foundation in loving memory of Sarah Rohr: a series of textbooks explaining each mitzvah, its source in the Torah, and its details.
Chayolim participating in the Chidon will be learning the following:
GRADE | YAHADUS BOOK | MITZVOS | SEFORIM |
---|---|---|---|
Schools worldwide have instituted the Chidon Sefer Hamitzvos as a motivation for chayolim to review the 613 mitzvos and commit them to memory. It is well-proven that the children who actively participate in the Chidon have a lasting knowledge and appreciation for Sefer Hamitzvos, even many years later taking the daily limmud of Sefer Hamitzvos to new heights.
In the zechus of the learning of תינוקות של בית רבן—our Rebbe’s children, may we immediately see the true and complete geula, the time when we will finally be able to fulfill all the mitzvos we are learning about, properly and in their entirety.
